Birthday Party Madness!

Saturday was the BIG day! First birthday party EVER for little Kaeley Marie. it was pirate themed, because mommy is crazy. Grandma Debbie got a purple cake with a skull and crossbones for the big people, and publix threw in a mini version just for baby to rip apart and make a huge mess.

Thanks to everyone who gave presents, kaeley loves her toys and has been playing with them nonstop since they were opened (cept when sleeping of course, which was almost non-exsistant that night from the sugar high)

She loves her play food from Grandma Pam and Grandpa Doug, and her Bath books and bookes from Grandma Debbie and Auntie Gail. And the Pirate bathtub set will be put to good use i assure everyone.

all in all it was a tiring and messy day, and now the little baby is a little Toddler. growing up soooo fast!

It's the Big Oh' One

In two weeks kaeley will be one whole year old. She's crawling like a pro, standing like a semi-pro, and taking little steps like a beginner! Today (9/25/06) she took her first 4 little steps, to get her blanket off the floor of her room, made it about halfway before she dropped to her hands and knees and crawled. but she walked. and as i guessed, it was going to be away from mama.

She's eating well (Feeds herself like a little piggy) and has started weening herself (yes, that's what i said, herself) off her bottle to sippy cups. Here are a couple pictures from her one year/halloween photo shoot. Faery Princess.

Movin' and a Groovin'

So kaeley is now 10 months old (ok, give or take a week), she's started crawling...started out as a bulldozer, head down scootin, now she's crawling, head up, slowly but carefully. She hates it.

She also has two more teeth coming, she's standing in her crib and takes little steps holding onto mommy and daddy's hands.

She's also starting to feed herself, as messy as it is, we're all so proud of her!

Florida, the Citrus State

Proof we live in Florida....

Last night (6/25/06) and today (6/26/06) kaeley tried Oranges and Lemons. She's had lemon before when we go out to dinner, from daddy's iced tea, sometimes she makes a face but always goes back and sucks on it a little more. The oranges daddy got we seedless Naval oranges, and they were pretty sweet. So here are some pictures of her reactions.

Oranges!

Imagination Station

Yesterday Kaeley, Daddy and Mommy went to the Imagination Station in Jupiter, Florida. It's a wood park that's been around since mommy was in elementary school! Kaeley had a plain unglazed donut for morning snack with some Juicy Juice and we played on the baby swings, went down the slide (on our own!) Went on the big girl swings with daddy and played with the wooden Train. It was really hot so daddy helped Kaeley cool off with some of his cold water. We had a really good time =)

Pasketti

We've been lucky, Kaeley set herself to a schedule very early on, started sleeping through the night very early on and is a good eater!
Now she's sitting on her own, playing on her own and starting to want to want to feed herself. So we had Spagetti for the first time to see how she'd do. Let's just say it was MESSY, but she didn't seem to mind the seasoning in the sauce, or the tomatoes (like her daddy). And mommy, of course, took pictures! bon apetit.

For a Good Cause

Right before Easter our friend Lucy had eye surgery to remove a tumor. She's doing fine so far and the doctors aren't sure if she's going to be able to use that eye again. In the mean time she's being a real trooper, and even organizing a Fundraiser Artshow using Eye Patches as the subject. Proceeds from the show/s will go to fund Ocular Melanoma Research.

We decided as a family it's a good cause and to participate by letting Kaeley make the patches. So we went to Walmart and for $1.99 each we got two patches. and some finger paint. And kaeley got to let her creativity shine.

The Patch on the left is entitled Tropical Fever, with oranges, yellows reds and blues. The patch on the right is entitled Peacock Feather in purples, reds, greens and blues. Crayola Finger Paint is maybe the best invention, next to soap.
